I can't remember why I was there but not too long ago I was in Pasadena at the Convention Center and saw that there were two conventions that day, one was a trade show for pizza industry vendors, and the other was a comic book type show.
I was wearing a pretty hip lookin pair of jeans and a vintage embroided cowboy shirt worn untucked, so when I went to bullshit my way into the pizza show which was full of cheesy (pardon the pun) sales types in suits, I said I was "Abe Frohman, the Sausage King," and no I did not have a ticket or a nametag on a lanyard because I never have needed one at any trade show in the past, I'm the Sausage KING of Chicago! They must have thought I was some wealthy sausage dynasty heir, because they actually let me in. No registration, no $40 ticket, no need to show my business card to prove I was in the pizza industry, nothing.
I made the rounds of the various booths, got my fill of free pizza, decided not to go into the frozen cheese or packeted parmesan business, then went into the comic book show.
Long story short, I fulfilled a childhood dream by pulling Erin Gray. Sure she's a middle-aged MILF single mother now and was probably only using me to bolster her self esteem but did I care?
